“Akhal City”: What a Smart City will be built in Turkmenistan

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov inspected the construction of a new administrative center in Turkmenistan. The $ 1.5 billion large-scale project is being built in the centre of the country. What a smart city “Akhal City” will be, said Igor Mosunov, a correspondent for “Mir 24”.

The scale of the new administrative center is best assessed from the height of a bird's flight. The project has spread to almost a thousand hectares in Akhal velayat.

“This administrative center is being built in a picturesque place in the foothills of the Kopetdag. The project is created taking into account the seismological, environmental and climatic conditions”, said Novchagul Annadova, a lecturer at the Turkmen State Architecture and Construction institute.

The construction is under the personal control of the President. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov paid special attention to the objects of social significance. In particular, the children's wellness and rehabilitation center.

"The children's center consists of two children's buildings - one for 100 seats, the second - for 150. There is also a medical building, which provides for the treatment and rehabilitation of children, and an administrative center", said the head of the design and expert work department of the construction sites.

Akhal City is a kind of smart city with the most modern infrastructure and a single database. It will be intended about 70,000 people. Teachers and students of the Turkmen State Architecture and Construction institute of Turkmenistan took part in the development of many design solutions.

"The main entrance to the center was a project created by our students, which combined elements of Turkmen ethnos and modern architecture," said Shirmuhamed Jepbarov, a lecturer at the Turkmen State Architecture and Construction institute.

During the working visit, the President noted that the construction of the Akhal administrative center should be completed in December, 2022 by the Day of Neutrality of Turkmenistan.
