ASIA OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP

On November 8-10, 2023, the Asian Open Karate Championship was held in Almaty. About 550 athletes from 20 countries took part in international competitions.

A 5th year student at the Turkmen State Architecture and Construction Institute, Bayry Bayryev, competed in the 67 kilogram weight category and took 3rd place. Let us note that our student-athlete won a silver medal in the open weight category at the Shotokan Karate World Championships, held in Tashkent under the auspices of the World Shotokan Karate Federation (WSKF), and a bronze medal in kumite (sparring) at the 19th Summer Asian Games in Hangzhou.
