TSACI Faculty Attend Information Session on the EU “Horizon Europe” Programme

9–10 February 2026, An information session dedicated to Horizon Europe, the European Union’s flagship programme for funding research and innovation, was held at the International University for the Humanities and Development.

The meeting was attended by Kseniya Savchenko, a representative of the European Commission’s Global Service Facility (GSF). She delivered a detailed presentation outlining the programme’s work plans and key activities for 2026–2027, with particular emphasis on opportunities for international scientific cooperation.

The session broadened the participants’ understanding — including that of TGASI faculty members — of the programme’s structure, available funding instruments, participation procedures, and the conditions and rules relevant to researchers and innovators from Central Asian countries.

It was noted that Horizon Europe focuses on addressing major global challenges, including climate change, sustainable development, energy and health, while also strengthening the competitiveness of the EU economy. The programme foresees investments to support research-driven solutions and innovation uptake.

Under the “Global Challenges and European Industrial Competitiveness” pillar, the programme is organised around six clusters: Health; Culture, Creativity and Inclusive Society; Civil Security for Society; Digital, Industry and Space; Climate, Energy and Mobility; and Food, Bioeconomy, Natural Resources, Agriculture and Environment.

The event concluded with an in-depth discussion and a Q&A session, during which the EU programme representative responded to questions from attendees.
