Faculty of Mechanical Engineering

There are 60 teachers working at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering : 6 of them are associate professors, 22 are senior teachers, 17 are teachers, 15 are trainee-teachers.
There are 7 departments at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. They are:

  1. Power supply and electromechanics.
  2. Technological machines and equipment.
  3. Metalworking technology.
  4. Automation of manufacture.
  5. Electrical engineering.
  6. Physics.
  7. Applied mechanics.

All the departments prepare skilled students for construction, energy, chemical and oil and gas industries and for various sectors of the economy.

The department of “Power supply and electromechanics” trains highly qualified students in the following specialties:

  • Power supply.
  • Electromechanical and automation of technological complexes of industrial facilities.

Tasks of the specialty. Specialists are trained and recruited to work in construction, oil and gas and industrial enterprises, agricultural production, urban power utilities, all enterprises and departments of the power sector, in scientific research, design, and project research organizations, and in higher and secondary vocational schools.

The department of “Technological machines and equipment” offers the following specialty:

  • Lifting and transporting, construction and road machinery and equipment.

Tasks of the specialty. The specialist is trained to perform production-technological, organizational-management, scientific-research work in the mechanization and automation of construction and road construction systems, as well as to organize the repair of construction and road construction equipment and develop its technology.

The department of “Metalworking technology” prepares specialists in the following specialty:

  • Processing metals by pressure.

Tasks of the specialty. The specialist is trained to perform production-technological, organizational-management and scientific-research work in the mechanization and automation of semi-finished and finished products in metallurgical production, as well as to organize the repair and development of technology for the equipment for the processing of metals by pressure.

The department of “Automation of manufacture” prepares specialists in the following specialty:

  • Automation of production and technological processes.

Tasks of the specialty.  Specialists are trained to conduct production-technological, organizational-management, design and scientific-research work in the fields of automated information systems, databases and networks.

The Department of “Electrical engineering”. This  department offers courses in relevant subjects. In general, practical, and experimental courses, laws, formulas, calculations, measuring instruments, and the use of electrical equipment related to direct and alternating current electrical circuits are taught and explained.

The Department of “Applied mechanics”. This department conducts general, practical, and experimental studies. The basic concepts and axioms of statics, systems of concentrated forces, moments of force, and the theory of coupled forces are studied.

The Department of “Physics”. From general, practical, and experimental lessons, example problems are worked out and the work is carried out in the experimental rooms with the help of experimental equipment, which is delivered to the students based on theory and experiments. The implementation of each experimental work is explained by constructing electrical circuits with the help of physical equipment and showing them on the basis of drawings. The emergence of physical laws is legalized on the basis of physical phenomena occurring in the external environment, and mathematical calculations are made.
