In the year 2026, held under the motto “Independent, permanently Neutral Turkmenistan – the homeland of purposeful winged horses”, our beloved Motherland and people achieve success in every sphere with the speed of a steed. The true essence of the peerless values that our nation has given to the world is embodied in the Akhal-Teke horses.

Recently, an event titled “World-famous Akhal-teke horses” was held at the Equestrian Military Unit of the Ministry of Defense of Turkmenistan, with the participation of military students from the Faculty of Civil Defense of the Turkmen State Architecture and Construction Institute. During the event, participants took a close look at the training, maintenance, care, and breeding of the Akhal-Teke horses — the “winged horses” of the Turkmen people and the battle companions of the brave.

History bears witness that horses have been the closest, most reliable companions and confidants of the country's defenders. Today, Turkmen soldiers love, take pride in, and honor their steeds. Indeed, among Turkmen military traditions, a unique custom that’s not found in other nations is the tradition of loving, honoring, and personally caring for the Turkmen horses.

Throughout all historical periods, the Turkmen steed has brought glory and renown to our people and the brave heroes who defended the homeland. For this reason, training and breeding horses within our Armed Forces continues today as one of our most noble traditions.

During their visit, the military students of the Faculty of Civil Defense received fascinating information about the work carried out by the courageous young men of our Motherland who love the Turkmen horse, the fine techniques of the art of horse breeding, the specifics of horse care, and traditional equestrian equipment.
