EXCURSION OF THE TEACHERS AND STUDENTS OF THE FACULTY OF CHEMICAL TECHNOLOGY TO THE NATIONAL MUSEUM OF TURKMEN CARPETS

On January 16, 2026, a year held under the motto “Independent, Neutral Turkmenistan – the Homeland of Purposeful winged horses”, an excursion to the National Museum of Turkmen Carpets was organized. The event was attended by students and the faculty staff of the Faculty of Chemical Technology at the Turkmen State Architecture and Construction Institute.  During the visit, they became closely acquainted with the carpets and carpet-woven items that have been passed down as heritage through the many centuries of our nation's history.

As we know, the art of carpet-weaving is considered an inseparable part of the socio-cultural life of the Turkmen people and is regarded as an exemplar of our country's overall cultural identity. The “göls” (ornaments) artistically woven into Turkmen carpets express the spiritual wealth and moral values of our people, reaching our days through the dedication and hard work of our mothers and grandmothers. It is the duty of each of us to pass this delicate art on to future generations.

Furthermore, during the excursion, the teachers and students studied with great interest the history of the exquisite carpets displayed in the museum, their weaving techniques, the appropriate use of colors, and the variation of “göl” patterns according to different tribes. This visit left a profound impression on both the faculty staff and the students.
