On November 14, 2025, the Departments of Economics and Management at Enterprises and Real Estate Management of the Faculty of Economics and Management at the Turkmen State Architecture and Construction Institute organized an online scientific-practical conference titled “Opportunities of Turkmenistan’s Transport and Logistics System”, dedicated to International Neutrality Day, with participation from higher education institutions across Turkmenistan.
Lecturers and students from the Turkmen Institute of Engineering and Transport Communications and the International Oil and Gas University named after Yagshygeldi Kakayev actively participated in the conference. Presentations covered topics including “Logistics Policy in Turkmenistan”, “Application of Digital Twin Technologies in Oil and Gas Logistics”, and “Key Directions for the Development of the Transport and Communications Complex”.
During the Revival of the New Era of our Independent State, all sectors of Turkmenistan have been experiencing rapid development. Significant efforts are being made to increase the volume and improve the quality of construction materials and structures, as well as to manufacture, package, and deliver products efficiently. An institutional market framework has been established in the country; however, continuous improvement is necessary to meet the evolving requirements of the times and the national economy.
Large-scale measures are being implemented to modernize transport and logistics facilities, aimed at enhancing trade and economic cooperation not only within the Central Asian region but also at the global level. Turkmenistan’s international initiatives, particularly in the transport and communications sector, reflect alignment with the overarching objectives of the national strategy for sustainable development.
The presence of an advanced information and telecommunications system serves as a key factor in strengthening the national economy, fostering business and intellectual activity within society, and reinforcing Turkmenistan’s international reputation. The development of a robust economy, its growth, and efficient utilization should be based on the adoption of space technologies, the advancement of computing and fiber-optic technologies, and the application of modern information technologies.
To further strengthen foreign economic relations, Turkmenistan continues to develop transport routes, telecommunications, and information systems, while reinforcing its geopolitical and geoeconomic position in the Eurasian region. Consequently, the transit of goods and the movement of passengers through the country are increasing in parallel with the growth of the national transport and communications capacity. In this context, the level of the transport and logistics sector partially determines the country’s overall economic potential. The establishment of a comprehensive logistics system in Turkmenistan holds significant international importance.
