In order to ensure high-quality preparation of volunteers for international events planned in connection with the declaration of 2025 as the “International Year of Peace and Trust” and the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s Permanent Neutrality, as well as to foster patriotism among young people, broaden their outlook, and promote the importance of learning foreign languages, an educational seminar titled “The Wealth of Language — The Wealth of the Nation” was held on October 7, 2025, at the Turkmen State Architecture and Construction institute. The event was organized by the Institute’s Volunteer Center and the Department of Languages, and the participants were first-year students selected for volunteer activities.
During the seminar, the Institute’s English language teachers gave presentations, providing detailed information to the volunteers about modern methods of learning foreign languages and the advantages of knowing them. Senior lecturer and head of the Volunteer Center, K. Allabayeva noted that volunteers should be able to tell foreign guests about the national heritage, culture, and art of the Turkmen people, their traditions, as well as about the magnificent buildings included in the Guinness World Records, and of course, about their own field of study.
Lecturer N. Garryyeva gave useful advice to the volunteers regarding etiquette when performing volunteer duties for foreign guests. In her speech, she focused on table manners and rules of behavior in public places, providing examples of English idiomatic expressions related to these norms.
An equally impressive presentation was given by senior lecturer and head of the IT Scientific and Technical Center operating at the institute, G. Atamyradova. She explained in detail what kinds of courses are organized at the center and their content. Particular interest among the audience was aroused by the presentation of first-year student of the Faculty of Computer Technology and Automation, volunteer Dawut Ruslanov, on the topic “Multilingualism — The Foundation of Innovative Development,” delivered in English.
At the conclusion of the seminar, the speakers expressed deep gratitude to Hero Arkadag and Hero Arkadagly Serdar for providing broad opportunities for the study of foreign languages.
