At the Turkmen State Architecture and Construction Institute, the Faculty of Road Construction held a scientific and practical conference with the participation of faculty members and students, dedicated to the declaration of 2025 as the “International Year of Peace and Trust.”
Senior lecturer of the Department of Geodesy, P. Bashimov, delivered a presentation on the topic “Geodetic Support for Bridge Construction”. He explained to the students the general rules for designing bridge crossings, engineering and geodetic surveys for selecting construction sites, preparation of large-scale topographic plans of the bridge site, positioning the bridge on the topographic plan, laying out axes on the ground and fixing them with geodetic markers, as well as the technology of constructing long and multi-span bridges over large rivers and the geodetic work involved in these processes.
The current educational and awareness-raising activities help ensure that students in Independent and permanently Neutral Turkmenistan receive modern education. As a result, such scientific and practical conferences supplement existing knowledge and enable students to carry out projects at a level that meets the requirements of the present day.
