On August 22, in the “International Year of Peace and Trust”, a high-level meeting was held in Turkmenistan between Turkmenistan, the Republic of Azerbaijan, and the Republic of Uzbekistan.
President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in Turkmenistan on a working visit. In the National Tourist Zone “Avaza”, they were received by the National Leader of Turkmenistan – Hero Arkadag – at the Avaza Congress Center.
Initially, bilateral meetings were held, followed by trilateral negotiations. During the discussions, the high level of Turkmen-Azerbaijani and Turkmen-Uzbek relations was highly praised, and new prospects for cooperation were explored.
Particular attention was paid to interaction in trade, economic affairs, transit-transport corridors, and the energy sector. As a result of the meeting, several documents of cooperation were signed.
As part of the working program of the visit of the friendly countries' leaders, a series of cultural events was also organized. A particularly impressive moment was the performance by the national equestrian group “Galkynysh” at the Rowach Recreational Center.
During these events, as a symbol of Turkmen-Azerbaijani friendship, Hero Arkadag presented President Ilham Aliyev of the Republic of Azerbaijan with a magnificent Ahal-Teke horse named “Tawus”, and President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of the Republic of Uzbekistan with a camel and her calf.
