From the first days the International Year of Peace and Trust was filled with great achievements. In Turkmenistan, successful world experience is actively studied, ties with foreign educational and research centers are expanding. In the modernization of the science and education system in our country, special attention is paid to the further development of international cooperation. Within the framework of these international relations, a meeting between the Turkmen State institute of architecture and construction and international experts of the United Nations (UN) Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) was held on April 25, 2025. The meeting was attended by: Ms. Katya Schaefer, Regional Adviser for Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia of the United Nations Human Settlements Fund, Mr. Oleg Golubchikov, International Adviser of the United Nations Human Settlements Fund, Selbi Hanova, UN Resident Coordinator in Turkmenistan, Palvangylych Berdiyev, Head of the Marketing Research and Foreign Economic Relations Department of the Ministry of Construction and Architecture of Turkmenistan, Gozel Pashykova, translator, as well as representatives of the Turkmen State Architecture and Construction institute: Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs M. Babayev, Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs G. Gurbansahedov, Acting Head of the Academic department of the Institute N. Kuliyev, Acting Head of the Scientific department of the Institute A. Arazov, Head of the Architecture department A. Gubayeva, acting Head of the department of Highway Construction, candidate of technical sciences Yolly Myradov, teachers of the Architecture department Sh. Jepbarov, N. Annadova, J. Hallayeva, M. Jumahanova and teacher of the Languages Department N. Garriyeva.
In the meeting discussed issues related to the implementation of the tasks outlined in the Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of Turkmenistan and the United Nations Human Settlements Program (UN-Habitat). The guests were familiarized in detail with the architectural and urban planning features of Turkmenistan, the excellent conditions created for people with disabilities, as well as with the projects implemented by students that combine modernity and national traditions. Following the international meeting, proposals were discussed for the joint implementation of a small city project, the creation of a comfortable urban environment for human life in Ashgabat and other regions, the implementation of regular cooperation in the training of specialists, as well as the development of bilateral plans in this area.
At the end of the meeting, great gratitude was expressed to our Hero Arkadag and our Hero Arkadaly Serdar, who create broad opportunities for bilateral cooperation in the development of our country in the field of architecture, construction, science and education.
