A WORKSHOP ON "EARTHQUAKES AND THEIR EFFECTS" WAS HELD AT THE INSTITUTE, INVOLVING TEACHERS AND STUDENTS FROM THE ROAD CONSTRUCTION FACULTY

On October 24, 2024, a workshop titled "Earthquakes and Their Effects" was held at the Turkmen state Architecture and Construction institute, organized by the Road Construction faculty. The workshop was conducted by the Chief Geophysicist of the Institute of Seismology and Physics of the Atmosphere of the Academy of Science This workshop is part of the implementation of the President of Turkmenistan's Program to reduce seismic hazards in the country’s seismically active zones and the action plan for the State Program for the comprehensive development of seismology in Turkmenistan for 2022-2028.

The seminar was organized under a trilateral agreement between the Institute of Seismology and Physics of the Atmosphere of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, the Research Institute of Seismic Construction of the Ministry of Construction and Architecture of Turkmenistan, and the Turkmen State Architecture and Construction intitut to implement the Plan of Joint Actions to mitigate the risks of seismic and natural disasters in seismically active zones of Turkmenistan and to comprehensively develop seismology in the country.

During the seminar, detailed information was presented on the structure and composition of the lithosphere and tectonosphere, as well as the sources and causes of earthquakes.

Currently, in the Epoch of the Revival of the new era of powerful state, favorable conditions are being created to strengthen the connection between science, education, and production, as well as to develop high technologies and actively implement innovative solutions, thanks to the tireless efforts of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty, Hero Arkadag, and President Arkadagly Hero Serdar.
