Glorious Heritage: The Turkmen Steed — A Symbol of Progress and National Pride

The latest issue of the "Mugallymlar gazeti" newspaper (Issue No. 11 (10453), dated February 9, 2026) features a significant article by Baba Muratberdiyev, the chairman of the primary trade union organization of our institute. In his work titled "Könülleri buýsandyrýan taryhy wakalar" ("Historical Events Filling Hearts with Pride"), the author explores the profound connection between national traditions and the country's modern development.

Symbolism of 2026 The current year, held under the motto "Independent neutral Turkmenistan – the homeland of purposeful winged horses" is inextricably linked with the image of the legendary Akhal-Teke horse. As Baba Muratberdiyev emphasizes, this image personifies:

  • Swiftness: The development pace of modern Turkmenistan.
  • Loyalty: The unshakeable bond of the people with their roots.
  • Beauty: The harmony of creative labor and aesthetic perfection.

A Living National Treasure The article highlights that the art of Turkmen horse breeding is a world-renowned masterpiece, refined by the wisdom of ancestors over millennia. Today, the Akhal-Teke horse is:

  • A Standard of Grace: "Heavenly horses" occupy a special place in the global cultural space.
  • National Pride: The international community closely follows the successes of Turkmen riders.
  • A Symbol of a New Era: Thanks to the efforts of the Hero-Arkadag and Arkadagly Serdar, the prestige of this unique breed is maintained at the highest state level.

The Triumph of the "Galkynyş" Group A special section of the publication is dedicated to the achievements of the "Galkynyş" national equestrian games group. Their performances, demonstrating unique mastery and trick riding, have become a signature mark of our state on the international stage, evoking a sense of sincere pride in every compatriot.

"The Akhal-Teke is not just a heritage; it is the living embodiment of our independence, a loyal companion, and a symbol of the new heights our people strive for," the author concludes.

We invite students, faculty, and staff of the institute to read the full text of the publication in the attached newspaper issue. This will allow for a deeper appreciation of our cultural heritage and the scale of current national achievements.
