On December 4, 2025, an International Scientific-Practical Conference titled “Teaching Translation in a Non-Linguistic University: Current Issues and Modern Trends” was held. The conference was organized by the Department of “Foreign Languages” of the Higher School of Management at the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia (RUDN University named after Patrice Lumumba) and the Department of “English Language” of the Faculty of Finance and Economics at the Odintsovo Branch of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia. Nabat Garriyeva, a teacher from the Department of “Languages” at the Turkmen State Architecture and Construction Institute, participated in this international event and gave a presentation on the topic: “Relevance of the English Language in Technical Universities: Extralinguistic Difficulties in Translating and Understanding Technical Texts”. The International Scientific-Practical Conference was attended by professors and lecturers from the Moscow State Construction University, St. Petersburg Polytechnic University named after Peter the Great, Myrat Garryyev Turkmen State Medical University, Turkmen National Institute of World Languages named after Dovletmammet Azady, and RUDN University, who delivered engaging presentations. This International Scientific-Practical Conference provided a broad opportunity to exchange experience and discussissues arising in teaching foreign languages in technical universities.
