The event was organized in honor of the Day of Construction and Industrial Sector Workers, celebrated during the Year of Peace and Trust. Professors, lecturers, postgraduate students, doctoral candidates, and master’s students from higher educational institutions of Turkmenistan and abroad, as well as specialists from scientific institutions and companies of foreign countries, took part in the conference.
In total, presentations by 128 representatives from 13 foreign higher education institutions, research centers, and companies were heard during the conference.
At the outset, participants became acquainted with an exhibition showcasing the results of scientific research, design projects, and applied arts created by the professors and students of the Turkmen State of Architecture and Construction Institute. Guests viewed the exhibition and examined in detail the creative works and architectural projects of the institute’s academic staff and students. Among them were design projects for the new campus of the Turkmen State of Architecture and Construction Institute proposed to be built in Ashgabat, where construction works are currently progressing rapidly, with the opening scheduled for September 2026. Several modern projects developed by the institute’s professors and students have already been implemented in practice.
These works, which reveal the original ideas and innovations of talented young architects, encourage a fresh, forward-looking vision for the future development of the Motherland’s cities and villages. The exhibition clearly reflected the successful implementation of Turkmenistan’s comprehensive urban development policy initiated by our Hero Arkadag and currently being continued under the leadership of Arkadagly Hero Serdar, who has been awarded the honorary title of “Honored Architect of Turkmenistan.”
The institute conducts scientific research aimed at addressing important production challenges in the country’s priority scientific areas, including ecology and the efficient use of natural resources, energy, chemical technologies and competitive product manufacturing, construction, architecture and seismic safety, as well as information and communication technologies.
To strengthen the integration between science, education, and production, an IT Scientific and Technical Center was established at the institute in October 2024.
The main purpose of the conference was to strengthen friendly relations between professors, postgraduate students, and researchers of Turkmen and foreign universities, as well as scientists from research institutions and specialists from companies, to exchange scientific information and share practical experience.
Respected professors, doctoral students, and representatives of renowned foreign universities and scientific institutions participated in the international conference via online format.
During the plenary session, foreign scholars delivered speeches about the architectural traditions and features of their nations, modern construction innovations being widely applied across the world, and new technological developments. The discussions — which focused on creating comfortable urban environments, harmonizing design with natural beauty, enhancing the effectiveness of architectural and construction education, and training highly qualified specialists — generated great interest among participants.
After the plenary session, the work of the international conference continued in four sectional meetings. The main objectives of the international scientific-practical conference were to ensure the integration of the education system with science and production; to organize scientific discussions among university professors, postgraduate students, and young researchers; to identify and attract talented students to science; to train qualified scientific personnel; and to prepare young specialists capable of solving urgent scientific and practical problems in production and research.
At present, in our beloved Homeland, along with all other sectors of the national economy, the construction and industrial fields are developing at a high pace. The tasks of establishing innovative production facilities, constructing large industrial enterprises, increasing import-substitution capacities, enhancing export potential, and introducing digital economy principles into the sector are being successfully implemented. Numerous exemplary modern cities, towns, and villages reflecting the creative spirit of our time and inspired by the national architectural heritage of our ancestors have been built.
Our heroic forefathers considered building structures, constructing roads and bridges, digging wells and karizes as noble deeds. They left a rich architectural legacy for future generations.
Participants of the international scientific and practical conference held online under the title “Scientific and Innovative Development of the Construction and Industrial Complex – A Guarantee of a Prosperous Future” expressed their sincere gratitude to the Esteemed President and Hero Arkadag, who stands at the forefront of such great achievements and architectural excellence. In the Era of the Revival of the New Epoch of the Powerful State, the participants wished Hero Arkadag and Arkadagly Hero Serdar sound health, long life, and continued success in their noble endeavors for the benefit of the people and in the implementation of nationally and internationally significant initiatives.
