Field Lesson: Students Explore the Practical Aspects of Construction Work

On October 9, 2025, under the guidance of the lecturers of the Industrial and Civil Construction Department of the Faculty of Architecture and Construction at the Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Construction — Senior Lecturer Meylis Nuryyev and Lecturer Toyly Mämmetgulyyev — a field-based practical lesson was conducted.

The main purpose of this lesson was to familiarize students with the characteristics of construction materials widely used in the industry, to reinforce their theoretical knowledge through practical experience, and to broaden their understanding of construction processes in real field conditions.

The class took place at the construction site of the new 5,000-seat building complex of the Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Construction, located along Gorogly Street in Ashgabat. The project is being carried out by the private company Ajayyp Gurlushyk.

During the visit, students observed the progress of construction works, learned about different types of construction materials, their application features and fastening methods, the organization of engineering and technical systems, as well as the implementation of safety measures on the site.

Throughout the session, the instructors provided detailed explanations about the importance of the coordinated implementation of all stages of the construction process, the role and efficiency of modern technologies in construction, and conducted practical exercises aimed at enhancing the students’ professional training and developing their engineering thinking.

Such field lessons help strengthen students’ theoretical knowledge, improve their practical skills, and contribute to their professional growth in the field of architecture and construction. They also play an important role in fostering creativity, encouraging innovative approaches in future projects, and preparing qualified specialists who will contribute to the continued development of the country’s construction sector.
