A joint international scientific and practical conference “The Potential of Artificial Intelligence in Achieving the Sustainable Development Goal in Education” was held
On August 29, 2025, as part of the International Year of Peace and Trust, the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan, in collaboration with the UNESCO Institute for Information Technologies in Education, held an international scientific and practical conference on the topic “The Potential of Artificial Intelligence in Achieving the Sustainable Development Goal in Education”.
The conference was actively attended by representatives of UNESCO, international experts, staff from the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan, and scholars and teachers from higher educational institutions. The main aim of the event was to integrate artificial intelligence into national and international educational platforms, as well as to exchange best practices in this field.
The opening ceremony and the general session of the conference took place at the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International oil and gas university. After the general session, the conference continued in separate sections.
The first section, titled “The Role of Artificial Intelligence in Inclusive and Quality Education”, was held at the Turkmen Institute of Telecommunications and Informatics. At the first section, Kumush Allabayeva, a senior teacher at the Languages department of the Turkmen state architecture and construction institute, presented a topic titled “Features of Applying Artificial Intelligence in Teaching Foreign Languages”. She also gave an interview about the significance of the international conference on the Russian TV channels Mir-24 and Turkmenistan – Tv-4.
The second section of the conference, titled “Changes Brought by Artificial Intelligence in Educational Management and Learning Processes”, was held at the Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly. The third section, titled “Developing the AI Skills of Teachers and Students”, and the fourth section, titled “Opportunities and Challenges of Artificial Intelligence in Personalized Learning and Educational Environments”, were successfully held at the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International oil and gas university.
