Tobacco free country
On the basis of the National Program for 2022-2025 for the transformation of Turkmenistan into a tobacco-free country and the action plan, the Turkmen State Architecture and Construction Institute, together with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Turkmenistan and the primary youth organization named after Makhtumkuli of the Turkmen State Architecture and Construction Institute, organized an event on the topic “Smoking is a threat to the environment”.
Vice-Rector of the Institute for Science Gurbansakhet Gurbansahedov, honorary elder of Turkmenistan, veteran of labor Charyguly Ataev, head of the department of the press center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Turkmenistan, police lieutenant colonel Toyly Abdullayev, representative of the 4th department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Turkmenistan, police major Batyr Berkeliev, head of the Professional Committee of the Turkmen Architectural -construction institute Myrat Berdyev. They told the students of the Turkmen State Architecture and Construction Institute about the dangers of tobacco and concern for people's health in our country.
Campaigns against tobacco products are regularly held in the country together with industry authorities and international organizations. At present, as a result of the adoption of the Law on “The Effects of Tobacco Smoke on Public Health and Protection from the Consequences of Tobacco Products”, our state is a leader in this area in the OSCE European Region.
Events in this context are regularly held at the Turkmen State Architecture and Construction Institute. The National Program for the Transformation of Turkmenistan into a Tobacco-Free Country and the Action Plan for its implementation for 2022-2025, which defines the legal status of a tobacco-free country, are aimed at creating a national standard for compliance with legislation and regulations in this area, as well as increasing public awareness of the harmful effects of tobacco use.
