Phosphogypsum: the key to zero-waste production and raw material independence

We present to your attention a relevant scientific article titled “Development of an Improved Production Method of Industrial Significant Products from the Waste of the Chemical Industry” (Turkmen: «HIMIÝA SENAGATYNYŇ ÖNÜMÇILIK GALYNDYLARYNDAN SENAGAT ÄHMIÝETLI ÖNÜMLERIŇ KÄMIL USULYNY IŞLÄP DÜZMEK»). The author of the article is Meylis Babayev, Vice-Rector of the Turkmen State Architectural and Construction Institute.

Given the rapid growth of chemical production in Turkmenistan and the increasing volume of technogenic waste, this work holds particular importance. The article investigates the physicochemical laws governing the processing of phosphogypsum – the main waste product from the production of extraction phosphoric acid, which is generated in millions of tons annually.

The main objective of the research is to determine the scientific and practical basis for obtaining the construction lime and mineral fertilizers necessary for our country from this valuable by-product. The successful implementation of these developments will not only solve a critical environmental problem but also make a significant contribution to increasing the economic efficiency of the domestic chemical and construction sectors.

The article was published in the journal “Bilim” No. 5 for 2025 (as indicated in the publication data).

We invite you to review the full content of the article to learn about promising technologies for processing industrial waste into demanded products for the needs of the national economy!
