At the 45th World Chess Olympiad held in Budapest, Hungary, from September 9 to 24, 2024, the Turkmenistan team participated in category B. Khalyniazov Vepaly, a second-year student of the Faculty of Computer Technology and Automation in the field of "Informatics and Communication Technologies" (in the industrial sector) won a gold medal and took first place.
